Tiger Woods has been forced to withdraw from his participation in this week's Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.
Due to plantar faciitis on his right foot, the golfer announced on Twitter on Monday.
The event, which supports the Woods charity, TGR Foundation, was supposed to be his first attempt at golf after missing.
While preparing and practicing in preparation for next week's Hero World Challenge.
I've been suffering from plantar fasciitis in my right foot, making it difficult for me to move," Woods wrote in an email.
I've decided to take a break this week to focus on hosting tasks. The plan is to play at The Match and PNC Championship."
Woods 46, who was a pro, competed for just nine rounds in three major tournaments in the past season.
These were his first tournaments since he was severely injured in a crash involving a car near Los Angeles in February 2021.
