During a series of meetings with top Republican lawmakers, Apple CEO Tim Cook is hoping to build his relationship.
In addition, Apple is dealing with growing scrutiny over its business dealings with China.
Cook has already met with Jared Kushner, the President's senior adviser, and President Trump's daughter Ivanka.
He is also scheduled to meet with Representatives Darrell Issa of California and Jim Jordan of Ohio.
Earlier this week, Cook met with Orrin Hatch, the Utah senator who leads the Senate Republican High-Tech Task Force.
In addition to meeting with the senator, Cook held a dinner with Ivanka Trump.
The board provides Western executives with access to influential Chinese business leaders.
The Tsinghua University advisory board also includes Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon, and Alibaba founder Jack Ma.
